JC Our Partner, Sonia Zaman Khan (solicitor England and Wales 2007), has experience of the governance issues, family laws and voluntary sector in England. As a lawyer in Hong Kong infrastructure and property group Hopewell Holdings, she participated in the negotiation of power project agreements with the Indonesian and Pakistani governments. In Bangladesh she has worked on judicial review, public procurement and commercial matters and as in-house Counsel in the International Jute Organization (part of the UN system). She has written a report on the juvenile justice system (Herds and Shepherds: The Issue of Safe Custody of Children in Bangladesh), published in June 2000, used for advocacy purposes by the UK’s Save the Children and the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust.’ Sonia is a Ph.D. (SOAS, University of London).

Sonia speaks French, Urdu and Hindi.
